Living with a SEAL is a book by entrepreneur Jesse Itzler. Jesse is one of those people who have reached greatness in multiple industries. He started off in music as a rapper, then started a private jet company which he sold to Warren Buffet, then started a coconut water company which he sold to Coca-Cola then started off becoming a motivational speaker.
Also he’s not even the richest person in his family. His wife is billionaire entrepreneur Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, which was sold to the Blackstone Group for $1.2 Billion.
In this book, Jesse Itzler tells the story of his experience living with a Navy Seal for 30 days. Although the seal was never mentioned by name, it was later revealed that it was David Goggins and this was before Goggins became popular on the internet as an author and speaker.
The book was originally a blog post on Jesse’s blog. It tells the story of how Jesse noticed Goggins running at an ultramarathon and decided to invite him to live with him for 30 days and train him.
The book tells the story of how Jesse handled the intense physical training and mental conditioning that Goggins put him through to push him beyond his limits. The SEAL’s training consists of running, weightlifting, push-ups, sit-ups, swimming in freezing water and other activities.
Overall it was a fun light read as it was adapted from his blog post and included humorous moments throughout in between reflections of the training Goggins put him through. 10/10 would strongly recommend.
